State Prosecution witness Acimovic said that he was taken to “Silos” and detained in one of the cells on June 2, 1992. On the following day a group of people entered the cell and began beating the detainees.

“I was hit by Tiro. He hit me with his leg on my nose and broke it. I was then hit on my left hand and leg. Before leaving, Tiro stepped on my head. I still have a scar on my head. I was covered with blood. I was not able to move,” the witness said.

He said that Manager Hujic took him to his office later on and wiped his blood.

“I asked him what was going on. He said: ‘I could not do anything about it’. My neighbour Zeka then took me to my house. As I was approaching the house, all broken, I met some neighbours. None of them even greeted me,” he said.

Hujic is charged, along with Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember, with crimes committed in the “9. maj” school building, “Silos” detention camp and “Krupa” military barracks.

Becir Hujic was Manager and Deputy Manager of “Silos” detention camp, just like Halid Covic. Sabic was Commander of the Police Station in Pazaric, Kalember was a guard in “Silos”, while the other indictees were members of the civil, military and police authorities.

Acimovic said that he was taken to the school building in Pazaric with his family members on June 20, 1992. On one occasion he was separated and beaten in that facility.

“My acquaintance Dzevad Corbo told me: ‘I would not do this, but I have received an order’. I asked him who gave him the order. He said that it was Mirsad Sabic,” the witness said, adding that he was friends with Sabic and that they were neighbours.

Sabic’s Defence asked the witness why he failed to mention the order during the investigation. The witness responded by saying that he could not remember everything each time he gave statements.

Acimovic was taken from the school building in Pazaric to “Krupa” and then back to the school building again. He was exchanged in November 1992.

He told the Court that the living conditions in “Krupa” were better and that he used to see Serif Mesanovic, known as Sera, in that facility.

The trial is due to continue on June 24.
